Castillo do San Marcos

This fort anchored East Florida's defenses. It protected St. Augustine from pirate raids and from Great Britain.
Inside the fort, where they slept.

Castillo do San Marcos

What a fun place to see,
wish I would have had my Grandkids with me.
Trevor would have loved this!

Castillo do San Marcos

This fort was for many years the northernmost outpost of Spain's New World empire. It is the oldest masonry fort and best-preserved example of a Spanish colonial fort in the US. Built in 1656, it is the oldest permanent European settlement in the US.

Florida

Just got back from a trip to St. Augustine, Florida.
We had a great time, Greg was sick with a bad cold the whole trip but he was a real trooper and did all the site seeing. The weather was great, around 84 every day.
